When you want an image to use for your character portrait, you have two choices:

1. Spend years mastering the art of sci-fi / fantasy illustration. Perhaps attend art school. Hone your craft until you can fully realize your character on paper just as you imagine them.
2. Use Google Image Search and swipe something that looks roughly like how you want your character to look.

For whatever reason, most players take the lazy way and opt for #2, despite the fact that there is a 90% chance they are going to look like a brooding androgynous goth / punk elf holding the wrong weapon.

Go figure.

Dear New York Daily News: "Japan nuke disaster" with "PANIC!" in an enormous font is an irresponsible headline to run, and calling a potassium iodide pill an "anti-nuke pill" on your front page is idiotic. Also, US citizens, stop buying said pills unless you are SENDING THEM TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THEM.

My Pokemon Black preorder is coming tomorrow! Wheeeeee, new time-waster! Otherwise, if I had the money to spare, I'd be WoW-ing. Actually, I received a nonfunctioning Nintendo DSi quite a while ago for about $10. It turns out I could get it fully working except for a physically fractured top-screen. I've been toying with the idea of finally repairing it fully for $20 and perhaps relocating it from its awful-pink stock housing to a translucent one for another $20, because if you're already voiding a warranty, you might as well void it hard.

Kicked up a lot of dust cleaning my room out a few days ago, but I'm finally starting to feel better. No 103-degree fever and inability to regulate body temperature anymore. Now I just have to get over this stupid cough.

Moved around stuff in my room, it's never looked so well. Wish my back didn't still hurt, but it's time to go to bed and be content. :)

Anyone who's been looking for a good movie to watch, look up Summer Wars. I just got done watching it, and it's a feel-good kind of movie. It's a scifi/romance?/comedy anime, just in case that's not anyone's thing -- but even if you're not a fan of the genre(s), I'd still give Summer Wars a try. It's out on DVD/BluRay in English/Japanese/Russian, but I'm sure you could find a torrent if you wanted. You won't be disappointed.

LET'S LEARN JAPANESE TOGETHER!

And I'll help you out with any of the early stuff, or learning hiragana/katakana, etc. But honestly my one tip for starting out is to do the exercises NOT in romaji (roman alphabet) If you do them in hiragana/katakana, you'll pick up the pronunciation easier, and things will be less confusing in the long run. :D

Not up in my room yet (because they arrived WAY earlier than I thought they would, and it's not clean up there yet) but...

I tuned up all the drums, and attached the practice heads. They all sound FUCKING FANTASTIC. Still have to clean them up on the outside a little, though.

Also, a DONALD MADE OF MAGNETS!
